Hello! ¡Hola! Ni hao! Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) offers exciting Language Immersion Programs to prepare the next generation of bilingual and biliterate global citizens. 

Interested families of incoming kindergarteners should complete an online application on the Dual Immersion webpage.

The Mandarin Immersion Program at College Park Elementary and the Spanish Dual Immersion Program at Whittier Elementary includes everything offered by a traditional class, but in two languages.

There are multiple educational and career benefits that multilingual students accrue, including:

• Academic Achievement: Students attain high levels of academic achievement in both languages due to increased cognitive skills and problem-solving abilities.
   
• Bilingualism & Biliteracy: Students acquire strategic thinking, listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency in both languages.
